David J. Harris Jr. (cornea fellow ’86-87) reports that daughter, Lauren Harris, is a cornea fellow at the Kellogg Eye Center, Ann Arbor, Mich. His son, David Harris III, is an ophthalmology resident at the University of Kentucky in Lexington.
Anderson Fellow Eung Kweon Kim’s (“E.K.”) son, Kyu Seo, joins his sister at Emory’s School of Medicine as a first-year student. Sister, Woon Cho, is a fourth-year student.
David A. Palay (res. ’88-91) published the 3rd edition of the Cornea Atlas textbook along with co-author Jay H. Krachmer (University of Minnesota).
John A. Wells Jr. ( res. ’66-69) proudly shares that his grandson, John A. Wells IV, is a first-year SOM student at Emory, and he is very proud of him!
John A. Wells III (’86M; res. ’88-91) was elected to membership in the Retina Society and the Club Jules Gonin, both this year. He is a vice-chair of the Diabetic Retinopathy Clinical Research Network (DRCR) and currently serves as chair of the DRCR comparison of Avastin-Lucentis for the treatment of diabetic macular edema.
He also shares that his son, John Wells IV, is a first-year medical student at Emory School of Medicine, class of 2017.
Maria Woodward (res. ’05-08; cornea fellow ’08-09) received the Bartley R. Frueh Surgical Teaching Award at the University of Michigan Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, W.K. Kellogg Eye Center, from the resident graduate class, June 2013.
