Maria Woodward, MD

Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology
Section of Cornea and External Diseases

Maria Woodward, MD, joined the Cornea and External Diseases Division of the Emory Eye Center and the Department of Ophthalmology at Emory University School of Medicine August 1, 2009.

An Atlanta native, Dr. Woodward attended Yale University, where she received her bachelor of science degree in molecular biophysics and biochemistry. She earned her medical degree at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, N.Y.

Dr.Woodward completed her residency at Emory in 2008, was honored to be named chief resident and finished her fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery in 2009.

Dr. Woodward has an impressive seven published articles to date, and she is the first author for four of them. Her clinical interests include refractive surgery.

Dr. Woodward will see patients at the Emory Eye Center as well as at Emory Vision, located on Atlanta’s north side. Dr. Woodward is pleased to accept referrals through the Emory Eye Center.
