My research is focused in the field of inherited retinal disorders. My primary research interest in electrophysiology and psychophysics is in dysfunction of the retinal “ON” pathway. My research at the VA involves the study of the natural course of retinitis pigmentosa (RP) and the possible benefits of the ASR retinal implant to counter the effects of RP, as well as studies on functional vision in macular degeneration, and the effects of vision or hearing loss on sound localization.
