I have been managing difficult contact lens cases for over 20 years. I have particular interests in contact lens management of keratoconus and other corneal ectasias, including visual rehabilitation following corneal transplantation and refractive surgery (RK, PRK, LASIK). Other long-standing interests include contact lens care, product antimicrobial efficacy, and prevention of product-associated ocular inflammations.
My current research activities are concentrated in two areas: The latest is a non-funded IRB-approved study, Topographical and Refractive Effects of GP Contact Lens Wear in Patients with Keratoconus. The other is a five- year NIH/NEI-funded Infant Aphakia Treatment Study (IATS) with principal investigator Dr. Scott Lambert, which compares the visual outcomes of contact lens management vs intraocular lens implantation in infant monocular aphakia.
