Six Emory Eye Center providers are recognized for patient satisfaction rankings

Drs. Aaron, Anderson, Carlton, Feliciano, Kim, and Van Wie receive high marks.

Two Emory Eye Center ophthalmologists and four optometrists have been recognized by Emory Healthcare for stellar patient satisfaction scores during fiscal year 2018.

Fulya Anderson, OD, and Marisa Feliciano, OD, each received the Diamond Provider Award. This means their “Rate Your Provider” scores among patients completing surveys during FY18 placed them within the top 1 percent of ophthalmology providers nationwide.

Fulya Anderson, OD Dr. Anderson joined the Comprehensive Ophthalmology service in 1997. She provides eye examinations that include evaluations of ocular health and prescription of glasses and contact lenses. In addition, she provides eye screenings as a volunteer at the Clarkston Community Health Center. Dr. Anderson is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association.

Marisa Feliciano, OD Dr. Feliciano joined Optometry & Optical Center Services after retiring from the U.S. Army. During her military career, she served as division optometrist, 24th Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, GA, and as chief of the Optometry Service at Winn Army Hospital also at Fort Stewart. She was staff optometrist at Hunkeler Eye Center, Overland Park, KS.

Maria Aaron, MD, Mary Carlton, OD, Hee Joon Kim, MD, and Ann Van Wie, OD, FAAO, earned the Platinum Provider Award for FY18. Their “Rate Your Provider” patient satisfaction scores placed them each within the top ten percent of ophthalmology providers nationwide.

Maria Aaron, MD Dr. Aaron is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and Associate Dean of Graduate Medical Education for the Emory University School of Medicine. She also currently serves as secretary for the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s (AAO) Annual Meeting. Dr. Aaron joined faculty after completing her ophthalmology residency at Emory in 1999.

Mary Carlton, ODDr. Carlton is a board certified optometrist who came to Emory Eye Center in 2007. She is chair of the American Board of Optometry Item Review Committee and volunteers locally with organizations such as Crossroads Homeless Kitchen and the Good Samaritan Eye Clinic. Her research interests include contact lens materials and products.

Hee Joon Kim, MD Dr. Kim is an ophthalmologist for the Oculoplastics, Orbital and Cosmetic Surgery service. She specializes in the medical and surgical management of both adults and children with eyelid, eye socket, and tear duct problems. Dr. Kim’s research focuses on various surgical techniques, orbital conditions, and challenging pediatric conditions.

Ann Van Wie, OD Dr. Van Wie is an assistant professor of ophthalmology for Optometry & Optical Center Services. She is a board certified optometrist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Van Wie provides comprehensive eye exams and follow-up care for patients following refractive surgery.
