  • Giving: Support Our Work

Supporting 150 Years of Eye Health

Since our founding in 1872, the Emory Eye Center has provided world-class vision care to patients from across the globe. That excellence is our legacy. A combination of rigorous medical training, pioneering clinical research, and high-quality patient care continue to place Emory Eye Center in an elite category to this day.

We did not get here alone. The generous and sustained support of a growing number of donors has allowed the physicians, researchers, and staff of the Emory Eye Center to excel in their roles. We will always rely on the financial support of our friends and alumni to fully achieve our mission.

Many Ways for You to Support the Emory Eye Center

You can help us create the future at Emory Eye Center in a variety of ways:

Annual Gifts support a variety of critical needs throughout the year and unrestricted gifts have the flexibility to be applied to needs as they arise.

Named Giving opportunities provide long-lasting support of eye research and patient care.

Did you know

charitable rollovers are permanent? Qualified charitable distributions can come directly from IRAs. And IRA charitable rollover gifts can be made year-round.

If you are 70 or older you can give up to $100,000 each year directly from your IRA to charities such as Emory.

You still benefit even if you do not itemize your tax deductions because the transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction. Your IRA charitable rollover gift can satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution for the year.

The transfer may be made in addition to any other charitable giving you have planned.

If you would like to make a tribute or memorial gift, please include a note with your check that gives the name of the person the gift is in honor of, and the name(s) and address(es) of whom you would like us to notify about the gift.
